Euromedlab 2009 Innsbruck

During June 7th – 11th 2009, one of the biggest symposiums of Laboratory Medicine recently took place in Innsbruck, Austria.  In an exhibitor area of up to 3.000m², Innsbruck was the second Euromedlab event that PVT has attended, since its first meeting in Amsterdam in 2007. After successful participation in 2007, PVT´s expectations were completely achieved and once again, we found that the Euromedlab was a great stage for PVT to deepen existing relationships and develop new contacts. Within the five days of the exhibition, more than 4.000 visitors had the opportunity to meet the approximate 3.000 exhibitors that presented their products and services. The latest news in lab automation was presented as well as other trendsetting solutions in medical engineering.

PVT delivers its 500th system in corporation with Roche Diagnostics

In a memorable ceremony in Pievesestina, Italy, 7th July 2009, PVT, in corporation with Roche Diagnostics, delivered its 500th system (EC1). During the ceremony held in the central lab “Laboratorio Unico di AvR”, Michael Ziegler (CEO, PVT), Dr. Paolo Scala (Head of RPD & MD Diagnostics, RD Italy) and Pascal Mittermaier (CEO, RD Italy), handed an award certificate and memorial statue to the customer representative as the system was uncovered by laboratory crew. The workstation installed (RSD Pro with EC1), is one of four PVT systems used in the central lab in Pievesestina di Cesena. The ceremony and handover of the 500th system was a clear indication of the ongoing quality of PVT´s products and loyalty of our customers.

New production facility for PVT Probenverteiltechnik GmbH

After 11 years of manufacturing in Waiblingen, in June 2009, PVT moved its production facility to the new, considerably larger hall in Aldingen. Located at Bernhardslaicher Weg 10, the new production hall now has a space of up to 2.200 m², allowing for greater production opportunities. In a  matter of just four weeks, PVT´s complete production line was displaced from Waiblingen to Aldingen, successfully moving departmentally, so as to avoid any loss of production.

On July 19, the American Clinical Chemistry Association (AACC) held its annual meeting in Chicago, Illinois. Known as the Largest Clinical Lab Exposition in the World, PVT took place at this expo, giving medical professionals and medical lab leaders the opportunity to sample and see a demonstration of its renowned RSD Sorting and RSA Aliquoting Systems. Up to 652 exhibiting companies attended with as many as 1,877 bothhs displaying their systems and products in over 17,400 m² of display space. Overall, the expo was a big success and PVT gained many new contacts from this meeting.

As you would have read in the previous news, we moved to our new production facility in Remseck-Aldingen at the end of June 2009. On 31st of June 2009 the official dedication of the new premises took place. The PVT branch office, where we have been producing since June 2009, was officially dedicated with a speech by our Head of Production and Service, Mr. Oliver Sommer. Besides the dedication of the new production facility, we celebrated the completion of the 100th RSA Pro. The Aliquoting System RSA Pro was launched in June 2007 and we have now completed and delivered it for the 100th time.

During November the 18th - 21st the world´s biggest medicine exhibition called "Medica" took place for the 40th time in Düsseldorf, Germany. Altogether 4.324 exhibitors from 60 nations presented their innovations to approximately 138.000 visitors. Besides the Workstation, including the Centrifuge Module EC1 connected to the Aliquoting System RSA Pro, PVT presented the new Sorter Kolibri which will be launched in the middle of 2010. The economic sorter, which is among other things equipped with a decapping module and has a throughput of up to 450 samples per hour, was very well received by the visitors. These four days at the exhibition in Düsseldorf were very useful to deepen existing relationships, develop new contacts and show the latest innovations of PVT to the visitors.
